GO TAKE A LOOK!

I entered Aliya into that baby contest. So if you go to parents.com and go to galleries her gallery is named Aliya Ana-Jo (obviously) well the more it's viewed, rated, and recommended the better it will do. So tell all your friends and have them go see my baby girl!! She is so cute!

Jeremiah moved into Medlin yesterday and last night after chapel won his first pizza eating contest (nothing like fitting in right away!) My parents ate at Jordin's BBQ twice today and I'm jealous! That is where I worked my last year at Lee. I truly enjoyed it and the fact that we got free food whenever we worked helped a poor college student...maybe not my waist line (LOL)

Did I mention that my new car has a remote starter on it!!! It's great I love it!

For all of you that have been wondering, I did not get the job at the Christian school, the old teacher decided to return. I will be subbing again this year in Erie, and I am ready to start! It will be so nice to get into a routine again especially with Aliya's feedings.

Aliya and I went to visit Miss Elsie on Saturday, she is an elderly lady that works/worked at Wal-Mart, my whole pregnancy she was making me an afghan for Aliya. She was so excited it when she was able to get it finished before she was born! Then I went on maternity leave and then she broke her leg, so she hasn't been working so we went to see her and pick up our afghan and it's GORGEOUS!!!

New Car, Texting, & Lee

So the last couple of days a few things have changed around our house that will effect everysingle person in our household.

The first thing is Mom, Dad, Jeremiah, and Emily left this morning to take Jeremiah down to Lee! We are all very excited for him, but I already miss him terribly and can't believe my little brother is going to COLLEGE! I know that he is bound to do amazing things with Gods help in the next couple of years and I can't wait to see what happens.

Second of All this morning MY MOTHER LEARNT TO TEXT! Yes we (beth and I) decided to get the unlimitied family texting plan, which included moms phone and so we had to teach her how to use it... it was humorous at first but she has done really well! With the exception of probarky....still don't know the definition of that word. LOL!

The third and most exciting thing for me is that I bought a NEW CAR. Well you know a used car that is new to me. It's exciting because its the first car I've BOUGHT! It's a 1998 Ford Contour, (a twin to my old car), AC, Cup Holders, and only 49,000 miles. So It's going to be a good little car for me and Aliya for the next few years.

Flood, Age, and Politics

So not like our life isn't crazy enough. A week ago on Tuesday we had 3 inches of rain fall in about 45 minutes, it was crazy. So we decided to just chill out and make some GF chocolate chip cookies. I walk down stairs to get xanthum gum and started freaking!! At least 3 inches of water in every inch of our basement! I looked and the first thing I noticed was our scrapbook boxes on the floor with three inches of water in them. My first concern was getting the scrapbook stuff to safety. The major issue was Jeremiah had had his wisdom teeth taken out that morning so he was on drugs and in pain so he couldn't help at all. I had been wading in the water trying to get the scrapbook stuff up and mom yells down about the electrical outlets. I had been wading in water with surge protectors submerged in water for about five minutes and didn't get elecrocuted . . . miracle number one. So we started getting the scrapbook stuff up out of the water and realized that ALL of the books mom had already completed were submerged in water. Us girls started with a wet vac, I called our friends down the road and they had another wet vac, and we started the slow process of bailing water out of our basement, finding more things that were damaged/ruined. Our semp pump had not worked and that caused the water. The more we worked the more there was to do. So we have spent most of this week trying to put everything back together. Everything that I had stored for teaching, my apartment, scrapbooks, journals, were all effected. So it's been kind of crazy.

Then Aliya turned 6 months old on Saturday...she is so close to crawling, I expect her to start moving any day... She is the joy of my life.

So I work for a international company (some of you know which one, I don't feel comfortable to say which one right now) As a supervisor we had a very detailed meeting about unions and this new law that would make it extremely easier to set up unions in any business with out a vote of any kind for all employees. One of the slides then talked about how this law passed the house and didn't pass the senate because of the threat that Bush was going to veto this law (that no one has heard of becuase unions and liberals want to keep it a secret) And they specifically said in this meeting that the Democratic Presidential nominee has been reported to say that this is the very FIRST law that he will pass if he gets elected. They went on to say that normally they keep their business away from politics but they wanted to inform their employees of laws and politicians who if get elected will effect their business, employees and employees families. This meeting is mandatory for every hourly or salaried member of management in this company. So this is thousands of people that are seeing a different side to Obama!!! in the most unlikely of places!!!

Half Our Summer

So our summer is half over and I am just now getting a chance to post. But before I get into why I haven't had time to post and the trillion pictures that I want to post. I have HUGE prayer request!!! I have an interview at a Christian School to teach K & 1st Grade on Thursday @ 7pm. I am very excited about the prospects of this teaching job, but above all I pray for God guidance to let me know exactly where He wants us to be for the next stage of our lives. (and I REALLY want to quit Wal-Mart!!!!) (Well since I wrote that on Monday I did have my interview and it went really well, but I probably won't be able to take it if it's offered because the pay is REALLY LOW! And I would still have to work at wal-mart to make what I would make subbing!)

So where do I even start with our summer. Aliya of course has grown in leaps and bounds and I could title this again 'Firsts' because she has had SOO many firsts!! I spent most of the month of June working alot at Wal-Mart and finishing a powerpoint for my Grandparents Wedding Anniversary.

On June 14th, Aliya and I went to Aliya's first Wedding. Janel & Eriz Zahner were married. I student taught with Janel and worked with her at the Middle School. She is now 23 weeks pregnant with a baby boy, and we are Really great friends!

Then Aliya had her very first feeding of Baby Cereal. She obviously loved it alot and couldn't get enough of it. This was back in June but last night we started her on green beans as well and she seems to be injoying that as well. She of course made a mess, and loves to put it all through out her hair. LOL!!

On June 26th my baby girl turned 5 months old!!! It is crazy to think that in a little over two weeks old she will be 6 months old! Last year at this time I was just starting to get over my morning sickness (well I was only throwing up 4 times a day instead of 8...LOL) So here is pictures of her just chilling out on her 5 month birthday.

So the biggest thing that happened in the last few weeks is that our WHOLE family took a trip to El Paso for my Grandparents (paternal) celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary. So we had a week of events to celebrate their love, and family. They have seven kids and spouses, 26 grandkids, and 4 great-grandkids and everyone except for one grandchild was able to be there for at least part of the week. So we were able to do so many different things througout the week.

Of course there must be airport pictures, which we were able to take a lot of pictures because who knew that texas could have a huge RAIN storm and the whole airport would close down and we were delayed by 2 hours.

So the week was full of great events, but mostly just reconnecting with family that we had not seen in YEARS! The greatest thing that I was able to reconnect with was SONIC . And anybody that knows sonic has the BEST slush drinks and ice cream around, and when they are only found in the south, I made a commitment to have sonic 7 times in 7 days, and I was able to get sonic at least once a day and a couple days I splurged for twice a day!!!

So the whole family went bowling, all the kids were on two lanes, the teens on a lane, the ladies on a couple lanes, and the guys on a couple lanes, and we had a lot of fun. I think I bowled the worst came I ever have, it was like a 69 or something. I usually get right around 100, but we were all having a lot of fun. I tried to get a picture of Aliya bowling, but Uncle J wasn't that helpful..LOL

So of course we were in texas so it wasn't long before the cowboy hats came out and Aliya received her first cowboy hat!!

While in Texas we were able to have a very RARE occasion! We were able to get a 5th Generation Pictures. Grandma & Grandpa Collins, Are Grandma Martin's Parents, My dad, Me, & Aliya!!!

Texas was Aliya's 9th State and We were two blocks from New Mexico so we went across the boarder and took pictures at the New Mexico sign. So state #10 was New Mexico! My baby girl has went to more states then most people have in their whole lives by the time she was 5 months old!

One of the things that we did for our Grandparents ANNI is we had a float in the 4th of July parade celebrating their 50th. Everyone wore (what else) cowboy hats and red, white, and blue! It was a lot of fun to be able to let the whole world know that my grandparents stil loved each other and made it 50 years. Grandma was even on Television which made her day even more perfect.

On Saturday our Last day in Texas we had a big celebration at (what else) a ranch! It was great with grilled food, horse back rides, watermelon, a dunking booth, and GF Cookies. So Aliya was able to go on her first pony ride, it was a lot of fun. So a big thank you to Aunt Teresa and Aunt Tabitha who were able to coordinate the whole week and gave us all Memories to last a life time!!!
So when we got home our pool was ready to go swimming in and of course Aliya is a little fish. Her first time in the pool, I was not there, my mom took her while I was working, but I've taken her in a couple of times since then and she LOVES IT, she puts her hands on a floaty and she just moves her little feet like crazy!!!

Well that was the first half of our summer, I hope that It won't be the end of the summer before I get to post, but if it is have a Great Summer!!!

Good News - 4 Month Old

Well there is so many things I once again need to post about because I never have time to post!
First of all I hope everyone had a good Memorial Day!
On Monday Aliya turned 4 Months Old! So here is some pictures of her in her Patriotic Little Sun Dress.
Monday was my first day off in three weeks so I did a lot cleaning and then we drove down to Caneautville to see TJ and his family. Aliya was in her dress 30 seconds before she pooped through and then was put in a onesie because of the heat.
And nope this picture is NOT Aliya, this is Harper her cousin who is 3 weeks younger then her! Scary isn't it!
Aliya and her Daddy!

Aliya (left) & Harper (right)
Aliya and Reagan
So then the other day I got home and my mom has some pictures to show me. She decided that it was time to give Aliya some real food. So while mom was cooking she handed her a carrot, she didn't want to stick the carrot in her mouth but she did go crosseyed looking at it!
So then today she just looked really cute to take pictures, and she had her outfit that made her a twin to her Koala. Yes it is the same outfit in two different colors and sizes. The yellow one was what she came home from the hospital in and the pink one she is obviously wearing!
She also today found her TOES!!! She is so cute and is starting to grab her feet, but just like children she won't do it when the camera is on her or ready to go! This is the closest that I got! (It's still cute)
Well and now for the GOOD NEWS!!!
I PASSES MY MATH PRAXIS TEST!!!!!!!!!!
For anyone that doesn't know that means that I am now certified to teach Middle School Math which gives me more opprotunities for Jobs in the fall. Also pray because I sent out an application for a long term substitute position, so pray!!!!!
Well good night!!!
